Mandate

Roles and Responsibilities:

The term of this committee is 03 years. In addition to assigned roles and responsibilities of the committee, the role of convenor/co-convenor also includes conducting meetings, preparing agenda & minutes and communicating the recommendations. The roles of this committee are:

  1. This committee works and makes appropriate recommendations to facilitate Research & Development Cell (RDC) to play a crucial role in building the capacity of faculty and students to undertake research problems in line with the latest advances in diverse disciplines to push the boundaries of knowledge through publications and contribute to technological developments relevant to societal needs.
  2. This committee also works to attract more research grants under norm-based funding, and enhance its brand image in terms of research output.
  3. This committee acts to organize the regular events such as courses, workshops, training/internships, group discussions and seminars/conferences.
  4. Since the Research and Development Cell has the mandate to build a sustainable research ecosystem that leads to consistent quality research outcomes and enhanced productivity, this committee works to promote collaboration between government, universities, research institutes and industries.
  5. In order to make R&D Cell functionality viable, the committee works to develop a connection with different R&D Cells of already well-known and established higher education institutions for their research.
  6. This committee works to ensure that RDC acts as a facilitator for networking and collaborative research with other national and international institutions working in inter- disciplinary, trans-disciplinary, and multidisciplinary research areas.
  7. This committee works to ensure that the reformed administrative structure at the University reaches out to key industry players, research organizations, institutions, associations, NGOs, government bodies to forge strategic partnerships.
  8. This committee works to facilitate resource mobilization and create a Corpus for research and development from government, industry, and other funding agencies and channelize Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for sustenance and furtherance of research activities.
  9. This committee also works to create a Corpus fund exclusively for R&D. For this purpose, the committee can explore venture capitalists and angel investors for funding in research and innovation.
  10. This committee works to liaise with funding agencies, and track funding opportunities from industrial consortia.
