Doon University has a vibrant ecosystem for research & development. This ecosystem includes young, meritorious and bright faculty members and research scholars. Research Advisory Council (RAC) of the University has the mandate to align the research activities with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 according to which research, innovation and development are important aspects of the higher education system. Doon University has also established a Research & Development Cell in accordance with the guidelines, issued by the UGC in March 2022. RAC and R&D Cell have the mandate to put in place a robust mechanism for developing and strengthening the research ecosystem. The essential elements of such an ecosystem are generation of knowledge and facilitation of research, innovation and technology development for industrial & societal benefits, improvement in collaboration and cooperation at national and international level, good governance, adequate financial resources, information management system, research promotion & guidance, integrity and ethics, capacity building and research monitoring. Doon University has also institutionalized some awards for students, research scholars and faculty members to promote high quality research. I have a firm belief that Doon University, which came into existence in 2009, will grow rapidly and emerge at international level in terms of outcome of research activities very soon.
