Established in 2009, the Central Library plays a pivotal role in enhancing the teaching-learning process at the university. Over the years, it has dedicated itself to building an extensive collection of learning resources and facilitating knowledge access through its services. The library is organized into two main sections: the Reading Section and the Circulation Section, collectively housing a diverse array of printed materials, including textbooks, reference books, reports, yearbooks, manuals, and case studies. The Circulation Section has an extensive collection covering all UG/PG courses offered by the university, allowing borrowers to access a designated number of books.
In its commitment to supporting teaching and research endeavours, the library subscribes to both print and electronic journals. The introduction of the e-Library, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, marks a significant leap forward, providing students with access to millions of e-documents anytime, anywhere.
The Central Library has embraced technological advancements to enhance its services. Utilizing Open Source Library Management Software for housekeeping and other activities, the library has implemented RFID technology, established its Institutional repository, developed a mobile app, and incorporated barcodes, QR codes, emails, and SMS for a variety of services. These progressive steps underscore the library’s dedication to staying at the forefront of information management and accessibility.
