Manoj Pant, Adjunct Professor (Department of Economics)Areas of Interest : Microeconomics Theory, Econometrics, International Trade Theory.
Prof. Manoj Pant is associated with Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences since its inception His contribution towards the development of the Department has been immense in terms of orienting the course with a more pragmatic approach and guiding the young faculties from time to time in moving towards a centre of excellence. Since 2012, Prof. Pant has been associated with Department of Economics as an Adjunct Professor. His Current academic association with Jawaharlal Nehru University is in the Capacity of a Professor of Economics at School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He has extensive teaching and research experience spanning nearly 35 years in different academic centres of excellence such as Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, IIM- Lucknow, IIT Delhi, IIFT, Southern Methodist University, USA. His academic interests are in area of International Trade, WTO and Competition Policy. His Social involvement includes guidance and academic intervention in shaping of the policy discourse in FDIs, Regional Development, Economic Growth and Development in Mountain Regions, Resouce economics including forestry, Research methods, International flow of goods and services, financial markets, Firm Efficiency, Competition, Terms of Trade and so on. He has worked with several reputed institutions and organizations like, World Bank, USAID, IRDC, FRI etc. He has contributed in the economic governance and policy making process in the country as Economic Advisor to Govt. of Nagaland; Expert, Committee on Trade and Environment, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India; Advisor, Competition Commission of India; Member, Consultative Committee on External Sector, Planning Commission, Government of India, 2004; Member, Technical Committee of the Ministry of Human Resource Development for WTO and Trade in Educational Services, Chairman, Project Review Committee of Department For Scientific and Industrial Research for Centre for International Trade in Technology, IIFT, New Delhi. Prof. Manoj Pant shall be teaching International Trade Theory to MA III Sem. Students in the academic session starting July 2012.
